Oral suspension.

Treatment of inflammatory hepatobiliary diseases.

Dogs and cats.

Each 1 mL of oral suspension contains:
Ursodeoxycholic acid………. 50 mg
Excipients q.s.c…………………..1 mL

Ursovet® oral suspension is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory hepatobiliary diseases with hepatobiliary cholestasis in dogs and cats. Due to its choleretic, cytoprotective and immunomodulatory properties, its use is useful in chronic hepatitis, cholangitis, cholangiohepatitis and cholestasis conditions that do not involve biliary obstruction.

Orally.

Administer the indicated dose every 24 hours or divided in two doses at 12-hour intervals.

• Dogs: 2 to 3 mL per 10 Kg of weight (Equivalent to 10 to 15 mg/Kg of weight).
• Cats: 0.2 to 0.3 mL per Kg of weight (Equivalent to 10 to 15 mg/kg of weight).

It is recommended that treatment be administered for 3 to 4 months after the patient has shown improvement in biochemical markers indicative of liver pathology. If there has been improvement or progression, treatment should be terminated or complemented with additional therapies.

• Do not use in patients with biliary obstruction, fistula, pancreatitis or other complications associated with cholelithiasis.
• Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to bile acids.
• Do not use in rabbits or other colonic fermenting species. In these species Ursodeoxycholic acid is converted to lithocholic acid (toxic).
• Special caution should be taken in patients with chronic liver disease, as they may have greater difficulty in metabolizing bile acids.
• Do not use in pregnant or lactating females or during the lactation period.

Ursodeoxycholic Acid is well tolerated by dogs and cats. However, in some rare cases, there may be episodes of vomiting and/or moderate diarrhea. Adverse effects can be reduced by gradually increasing the dose to the desired dose over 1 to 2 weeks. Treatment is supportive if necessary.

• Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Do not handle by persons hypersensitive to Ursodeoxycholic Acid. – In case of contact with skin, eyes or mucous membranes, wash immediately with plenty of water. In case of irritation, go to a medical center and show the case of the product. – In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical attention immediately and show the product container.

Empty containers can be discarded as household waste, without any special precautions. Do not dispose of containers with product residues on the ground or in waterways. For expired or unused products, contact the manufacturing laboratory.

Store at room temperature below 25°C. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Once opened, use within 3 months. Discard the unused product after that period of time. For export: Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 °C, protected from light.
