Solution for injection.

Broad-spectrum antibacterial.

Each 100 mL of solution for injection contains:
Enrofloxacin……………………….. 10 g
Excipients c.s.p……………….. 100 mL

Broad-spectrum antibacterial for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by bacteria sensitive to Enrofloxacin. Rostrum® It is effective against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, such as: E. coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Bordetella spp., Campylobacter spp., Proteus spp., Klebsiella spp., Erysipelothrix spp., Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., and Mycoplasma spp. Rostrum® It is recommended for the treatment of infections of the gastrointestinal, respiratory, genitourinary, dermal tracts and in cases of contaminated wounds.

• Cattle: Diarrhoea, Pneumonia, Salmonellosis, Mastitis, Metritis, Omphalitis, Septicemia and secondary infections in viral processes.
• Sheep: Diarrhoea, Pneumonia, Acute mastitis, Gangrenous mastitis, Contagious agalactia.
• Pigs: Pre- and post-weaning diarrhoea, Pleuropneumonia (Haemophilus spp.), Salmonellosis, Ileitis, Atrophic rhinitis, Epidermitis, Erysipelas, Enzootic pneumonia (Mycoplasma spp.), Mastitis syndrome, Metritis,
  Agalactia (M.M.A).

Parenteral route.
Intramuscular in pigs.
Subcutaneous in cattle and sheep.

• Cattle, sheep and pigs: 1 mL/40 kg body weight (equivalent to 2.5 mg/kg body weight), every 24 hours for 3 days. In case of complicated respiratory infections and Salmonellosis, it is recommended to increase the dose to 1 mL/20 kg of body weight (equivalent to 5 mg/kg of body weight) and for 5 days in the case of Salmonellosis.
• In sheep, a dose of 1 mL/20 kg body weight (equivalent to 5 mg/kg body weight) is recommended for 3 days in the case of gangrenous mastitis, acute mastitis and contagious agalactia.

Pigs, cattle and sheep.

• Do not administer enrofloxacin to animals with hypersensitivity to quinolones.
• The use of Enrofloxacin may cause crystal formation in the urine, so it is recommended not to administer it to dehydrated animals.
• Do not administer to pregnant or lactating females.

• Avoid the use of Enrofloxacin in young growing animals because of the cartilaginous abnormalities it can generate.
• Fluoroquinolones, such as Enrofloxacin, should not be used as a first line of treatment, unless no therapeutic alternative is available. When used as a second treatment, it should be on the basis of susceptibility studies.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Arthropathies have been reported in immature animals (calves, piglets). The risk of arthropathy increases when the dose is increased, however, it has also been reported when recommended doses are used. Other adverse effects that have been described in very rare cases (less than 1 animal in 10,000 animals, including isolated reports) include vomiting, anorexia, increased liver enzymes, ataxia, seizures, depression, lethargy, and nervousness.

Wash your hands after administering the product.

Enrofloxacin given with Theophylline may increase your serum levels.
Concomitant administration with other drugs that have hepatic metabolism may affect the pharmacokinetics of one or both drugs.

Empty containers can be discarded as household waste, without any special precautions. Do not dispose of containers with product residues on the ground or in waterways. For expired or unused products, contact the manufacturing laboratory.

• Meat: Cattle and sheep: 14 days. Pigs: 10 days
• Milk: Do not administer to animals whose milk is intended for human consumption.

Store between 15 and 30 °C, away from light.
Once opened, use within 28 days. Discard the unused product after that period of time.
