Metamizole Sodium 50%

Solution for injection.

Analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic.

Each 100 mL contains:
Metamizole Sodium…………………………….. 50 g
Excipients c.s.p…………………………….. 100 mL

Cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, dogs and cats.

Slow intramuscular or intravenous.

• Cattle and horses: 20 mL/400 kg (equivalent to 25 mg Metamizole Sodium/kg bw).
• Foals: 10 mL / 150 kg (equivalent to 33.3 mg Metamizole Sodium/kg b.w.).
• Pigs: 5 mL/100 kg (equivalent to 25 mg Metamizole Sodium/Kg bw).
• Sheep: 5 mL/50 kg (equivalent to 50 mg Metamizole Sodium/Kg bw).
• Dogs: 0.4 mL/10 kg (equivalent to 20 mg Metamizole Sodium/kg b.w.).
• Cats: 0.2 mL/5 kg (equivalent to 20 mg Metamizole Sodium/kg b.w.).

Repeat the dose 2 to 3 times a day.

• Meat:

Cattle, sheep and pigs: 35 days.
Horses: Do not administer to horses intended for human consumption.

• Milk: Do not administer to animals whose milk is intended for human consumption.

• Do not use in conjunction with Chlorpromazine, Barbiturates and/or Phenylbutazone.
• Do not use in animals with a history of blood dyscrasia.
• Do not use in animals hypersensitive to Metamizole Sodium.
• Do not use in animals with chronic gastrointestinal, hepatic or renal disease.
• Do not use during pregnancy, lactation or in breeding animals.

• Keep out of reach of children.
• In competition animals, use only 5 days before competition.
• The application of the product for long periods of time requires periodic evaluation of the patient.
• Overdose of Metamizole may result in seizure events.
• Use with caution in elderly animals and/or animals with cardiovascular disease.
• Metamizole sodium may tend to increase the likelihood of bleeding due to suppression in prothrombin formation.

• Long-term use can lead to leukopenia.
• Subcutaneous administration may cause irritation at the injection site.

• It should not be administered in conjunction with barbiturates or phenylbutazone, because the drug interaction affects the microsomal enzyme system.
• In conjunction with chlorpromazine, it can cause severe hypothermia.

• Do not handle by people who are hypersensitive to Metamizole Sodium.
• In case of accidental injection, go immediately to a medical center and show the product label.
• Do not smoke, eat or drink during administration of the product.

Empty containers can be discarded as household waste, without any special precautions. Do not dispose of containers with product residues on the ground or in waterways. For expired or unused products, contact the manufacturing laboratory.

Store between 15 and 30 °C, away from light. Once opened, use within 28 days. Discard the unused product after that period of time.
