Local anesthetic

It is indicated as a local anesthetic by infiltration or neural block, for interventions such as: castrations, wound suturing, ophthalmic interventions, vulvoplasty, or any intervention that requires the temporary suspension of the sensation of pain. It is indicated in the perineural block for the diagnosis of lameness; as a paravertebral or spinal anesthetic, for ruminotomies or caesarean sections.

Each 1 mL of solution for injection contains:
Lidocaine Hydrochloride………………….. 20 mg
Excipients c.s.p…………………………….. 1 mL

Subcutaneous, intramuscular, and epidural.

  • Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to local anesthetics of the amide class.
  • Do not administer to pregnant or lactating females.

Use of the product at normal doses may result in general drowsiness.

  • The levels or effects of Lidocaine may be increased by concomitant administration of Cimetidine or Propanolol.
  • The toxicity of Lidocaine in dogs is enhanced by phenobarbital.
  • Other antiarrhythmic drugs such as Procainamide, Quinidine, Propanolol and Phenytoin, administered with Lidocaine, may cause additive or antagonistic cardiac effects and toxicity may be increased.
  • The dose required will depend on the extent of the region to be anesthetized, the type and magnitude of the intervention, and the species.
  • Use with caution in animals with hepatic or cardiac dysfunction.
  • Avoiding an overdose of the product may cause depression of neuromuscular and/or cardiac functions.
  • Cats tend to be more sensitive to the effects of the drug on the central nervous system, administered cautiously.
  • The toxicity of Lidocaine in dogs is enhanced by phenobarbital.
  • Accidental intravenous injection should be avoided.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Meat: 28 days.
Milk: 7 days.

  • Avoid contact with skin. Wash your hands with soap and water after handling the product.
  • In case of accidental self-injection, seek medical attention immediately and show the internal leaflet to the doctor.
  • Persons with known hypersensitivity to Lidocaine Hydrochloride should avoid contact with the veterinary medicinal product.

Dispose of unused product residues in their original, tightly closed containers. Do not dispose of containers with product residues on the ground or in waterways. Dispose of waste of this product with caution along with household waste.

Store between 15 and 30 °C, away from light. Once opened, use within 28 days. Discard the unused product after that period of time.
