Cleanse the skin in the area to be applied, then apply a sufficient amount of product to leave a thin layer on the affected area, apply two or three times a day massaging gently. Use for up to 14 days or as directed by the Veterinarian.

  • Do not administer to animals with heart, kidney or liver failure, dehydration, or with haematological or bone marrow abnormalities or who are hypersensitive to active ingredients.
  • Do not administer to pregnant or lactating females.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Apply to clean, dry areas to prevent absorption of other chemicals into systemic circulation.
  • Both phenylbutazone and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) can mask an existing pathology, due to their anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.
  • Use with caution in animals with mast cells, as DMSO can degranulate mast cells.
  • Use with caution in animals with a history of allergies to other drugs.
  • Use with caution in dehydrated animals or in animals in shock, because the diuretic and vasodilator effect of DMSO may exacerbate these conditions.
  • In competition horses, use with caution due to Lidocaine content in its formulation.

Dimethyl sulfoxide may cause irritation, erythema, vesicles, dry skin, or local allergic reaction, which are transient and resolve rapidly when therapy is discontinued.

  • Phenylbutazone may antagonize the effect of increased renal flow caused by furosemide.
  • Phenylbutazone, administered in conjunction with hepatotoxic drugs, may increase the risk of developing liver toxicity.
  • Concomitant use with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may increase the potential for adverse reactions, however, some clinicians routinely use phenylbutazone concomitantly with flunixin in horses. – Penicillamine may increase the risk of hematologic and/or renal adverse reactions.
  • Phenylbutazone may increase the plasma half-life of Penicillin G.
  • Phenylbutazone could potentially displace sulfonamides from plasma proteins, increasing the risk of adverse effects.
  • Phenylbutazone could potentially displace warfarin from plasma proteins, increasing the risk of bleeding.
  • Because of the anticholinesterase activity of DMSO, avoid use with organophosphates or other cholinesterase inhibitors.
  • Because DMSO inhibits the enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase, it can prolong the effect of alcohol.
  • Insulin, corticosteroids and atropine can be potentiated by DMSO.
  • Wear gloves when applying the product.
  • Do not smoke, eat or drink during handling and application of the product.
  • In case of contact with skin, eyes or mucous membranes, wash immediately with plenty of water. In case of irritation, go to a medical center and show the case of the product.
