Download Data SheetIndicated for the treatment of infections caused by clindamycin-sensitive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and anaerobic bacteria such as Bacteroides spp., Fusobacterium spp., Peptostreptococcus spp., Clostridium perfringens and many species of Propionibacterium spp. It also exhibits activity against Toxoplasma gondii.
Its use is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by clindamycin-sensitive bacteria in dogs and cats. In dogs, its use is recommended as the therapy of choice for the treatment of oral infections, pyoderma and osteomyelitis. In cats, its use is especially recommended for the treatment of oral infections. Clindamycin is also indicated in cases of toxoplasmosis in dogs and cats, as it improves the clinical signs associated with active infection with Toxoplasma gondii.

Oral antibiotic.
Clindamycin is an antibiotic belonging to the group of Lincosamides, which corresponds to a semi-synthetic modification of Lincomycin. It has a spectrum of action similar to Erythromycin, i.e. gram-positive bacteria, especially Staphylococci, Streptococci and anaerobic bacteria. Lincosamides are useful for the treatment of Penicillin, Erythromycin, and Cephalosporin-resistant infections.
Clindmycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, altering translocation. It binds to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, preventing the translocation of transfer RNA from the A site to the P site of the ribosome, preventing the formation of peptide bonds and generating inhibition of the protein synthesis of the microorganism.
Each 620 mg tablet contains:
Clindamycin Hydrochloride………….. 195.04 mg
(Equivalent to 165 mg clindamycin base)

Oral administration.
The recommended dose in dogs and cats for the treatment of oral infections is 11 mg/kg every 24 hours or 5.5 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours, for 5 days. For the treatment of osteomyelitis in dogs, a dose of 11 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours for 28 days is recommended. The recommended dose for the treatment of pyoderma in dogs is 11 mg/kg every 24 hours or 5.5 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours, for a minimum of 21 consecutive days or for at least 7 days after apparent clinical cure. For the treatment of toxoplasmosis, a dose of clindamycin for dogs and cats of 10 to 40 mg/kg and 25 to 50 mg/kg, respectively, divided into 2 daily doses, for 14 to 21 days, is recommended.

Osteomyelitis: | Dogs: 1 tablet per 15 kg of body weight, twice a day for 28 days. |
Pioderms: | Dogs: 1/2 tablet every 15 kg of body weight twice a day, or 1 tablet every 15 kg twice a day. 15 kg weight, once a day for a minimum of 21 consecutive days or up to at least 7 days after apparent clinical cure. |
Toxoplasmosis: | Dogs: 1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight, twice a day for 14 to 21 days. Cats: 1/4 tablet every 2 to 3 kg of body weight, twice a day, for 14 to 21 days |
Long-term use of clindamycin may occasionally cause anorexia, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Do not administer to pregnant or lactating females.
Not applicable.
Dispose of unused product residues in their original packaging. Do not dispose of the empty container or with product residues in rivers, lakes or natural water streams. Dispose of waste of this product with caution along with household waste.
Store at a temperature between 15 and 30°C, away from light.
