Data Sheet

Each mL of topical solution contains:

Enylconazole………………..100 mg
Excipients c.s.p………… 1 mL

Indicated for the treatment of dermatophytosis in horses, caused by: Trichophyton equinum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton verrucosum, Microsporum canis and Microsporum gypseum.

Horses.

The solution Equinyl®, should be diluted before use by adding 1 part of the solution to 50 parts of warm water until an emulsion of 0.2% Enylconazole (2 mg of active substance / mL of water) is obtained, which should be used to treat the horse topically.
It is recommended to follow the following dilution guidelines:

  • 10 mL of Equinyl®, concentrate, should be diluted in 1/2 liter of warm water.
  • 20 mL of Equinyl®, concentrate, should be diluted in 1 liter of warm water.
  • 100 mL of Equinyl®, concentrate, should be diluted in 5 liters of warm water.
  • 120 mL of Equinyl®, concentrate, should be diluted in 6 liters of warm water.

Diluted Equinyl®

solution should be applied at intervals of 3 to 4 days. The duration of treatment can vary from a minimum of 4 applications to a maximum of 12 applications in severe cases. Treatment should continue until clinical resolution is observed and negative cultures are obtained.

Topical by bath or spray.

  • Before starting the treatment with the diluted solution of Equinyl®, the horse should be cleaned and/or bathed with a brush and mild soap, removing any scabs and scales that exist in order to facilitate the penetration of the active ingredient into the coat.
  • The first two applications should be carried out covering the entire body of the animal, with the aim of also reaching subclinical lesions and spores present in the coat. The diluted solution should then be applied only to the lesions, covering a large area around the affected skin.
  • The development of adverse effects in animals treated with the recommended dose is unlikely, because absorption through the skin is very low.
  • When the product Equinyl® is used as directed, no adverse effects have been reported.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • The diluted product should be used immediately.

No specific interactions have been reported. However, like other azoles, systemic treatment may result in inhibition of the cytochrome P450 enzyme.

  • Do not administer in animals with known hypersensitivity to enylconazole.
  • Do not use on horses less than 6 months of age.
  • Do not wet the animal’s mucous membranes (oral and ocular) with the product.
  • Application of Equinyl®

topically by bath, at the recommended dilution of 0.2% (1X), or up to three times the recommended dilution of 0.6% (3X) to horses, for up to 12 applications every 3 days, generated no side effects. The Application of Equinyl®topically by bathing, in a dilution five times more concentrated than the recommended dilution of 1.0% (5X), every 3 days, can cause signs of toxicity (heavy sweating, loss of appetite, apathy, irritation of the ocular mucosa, muscle tremors, tachycardia and tachypnea) 9 days after the start of treatment, and also changes in the coat (adhesions, diffuse alopecia) 21 days after the start of treatment.

  • There is no antidote. In case of overdose, it is recommended to wash the animal with plenty of warm water.
  • Wear protective gloves and goggles when preparing and applying the product.
  • Wash your hands with plenty of soap and water after handling and applying the product.
  • Do not smoke, eat or drink during handling and application of the product.
  • Apply in ventilated environments.
  • Avoid contact with the treated animal until its coat is completely dry.
  • Do not handle by people who are hypersensitive to Enylconazole.
  • In case of skin contact, remove contaminated clothing and wash immediately with plenty of soap and water.
  • In case of contact with eyes, wash immediately with plenty of water. In case of irritation, go to a medical center and show the product label.
  • In case of accidental ingestion, go immediately to a medical center and show the product label.
