It is very effective against Gram-positive bacteria, especially Staphylococcus aureus<\/em>, other staphylococci, and several species of streptococci. It is less effective against Gram-negative diseases such as Escherichia coli<\/em>, Klebsiella<\/em>, Salmonella<\/em> , and Pseudomonas<\/em>.
