The Sheep (Ovis aries) and the Goat (Capra aegagrus hircus) are two species of small ruminants, domesticated between 8,000 and 9,000 years B.C. Their contributions to the human species have been permanent from that time to now, giving milk and dairy products, meat, wool and furs.
